UnScriptural because God’s Economic System is Individual Labor, Each individual responsible for producing his/her own income with the right to trade freely with others = Free-Market Capitalism – the Only System Approved by God for use by Mankind & is the Only System that is Fair & Produces Prosperity! Socialists flout the term “Income Inequality” as if it is “unfair’ for one person to earn more than another; the only income system that is “Fair” is for each individual to earn based on his/her personal performance—hard work, skill, knowledge & abilities!

But the U.S. had No Income-Taxes on citizens for the first 140-years from 1776—1916, Only Tariff-Taxes on imports, like President Trump is doing now with China, et. al., which fully funded government operations for the first 140-years in America!
Then in 1916, Democrat President Woodrow Wilson invented “income tax” & the damned Democrats have been on a Tax & Spend Tare ever since!
God requires a Tithe/10%; who is government to require more?! I propose a 10% Flat Tax for All! Preferably Not on Income but on Consumption (Fed. Sales Tax on Purchases, i.e., only on what we spend).
